The centerpiece of this design is the homeowner's favorite open kitchen. Located in the center of the main visual facade, it features a unique "ㄇ" shaped working area and independent air conditioning. The design incorporates folding doors and horizontal sliding windows, allowing the kitchen to be transformed into an independent individual space when needed. The outward facade also doubles as a bar counter, creating a perfect gathering spot for friends and family.
One of the standout features of this project is the absence of pillars in the nearly 200 square-meter space. Instead, thick beams resembling a spider web structure support the entire space, providing a sense of openness and freedom. This unique structural design allows for greater flexibility in dividing the space according to the user's needs.
Prioritizing user preferences and needs, Kao Yu-Jou and the design team engaged in thorough communication and analysis before shaping the space. The layout of the plane was carefully considered, taking into account scale, proportion, and the overall integrity of the space. The result is a harmonious and functional design that perfectly suits the homeowner's lifestyle.
The Pattern of Nature design spans 198 square meters and is located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The project began in November 2019 and was completed in November 2020.
By strategically incorporating translucent glass walls, the design takes advantage of the space's rare lighting on three sides. This allows natural light to flow throughout the space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The glass walls also preserve the interplay of light and shadow, adding depth and visual interest to the design.
Kao Yu-Jou's design philosophy is centered around creating unique, warm, and pure spaces. The use of low-saturated colors, natural textures, and appropriate spatial configurations enhances the vitality and comfort of the space. The careful balance of elements ensures that each space is tailored to its occupants, providing a sense of intimacy and personalization.
The Pattern of Nature design by Kao Yu-Jou has garnered recognition and acclaim. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious award recognizes the design's innovation, practicality, and adherence to professional and industrial standards.
With its seamless integration of nature and modern living, the Pattern of Nature design by Kao Yu-Jou is a testament to the power of thoughtful design. By prioritizing user preferences, incorporating innovative structural elements, and maximizing natural light, this design creates a truly unique and inviting residential space.
